Euros OK "Ugly" Produce
The European Union has ditched rules against the sale of “ugly” fruits and vegetables in grocery stores. Due in part to higher commodity prices, authorities say “overly curved, extra knobbly or oddly shaped produce” should not be made rubbish just because of their outwardly appearance. The new law that goes into effect in July will allow grocery shoppers to buy 26 fruit and veggie products no matter how they look.
