IDEAg’s Dakotafest Features Innovation, Equipment, Policy Discussions
MITCHELL, South Dakota, August 19, 2014 – Innovation, policy discussions and state-of-the-art farm and ranch equipment and services took center stage today outside Mitchell, South Dakota, as farmers and ranchers gathered for the opening day of IDEAg’s Dakotafest.
Located in the heart of the plains, Dakotafest features a diverse mix of exhibitors catering to crop and livestock producers.
“The crops look good this year and that’s always reason for optimism,” said Dan Durheim, executive director of IDEAg Events. “This show caters to livestock and crop farmers so there are different reasons for optimism from our show attendees. And this year’s big crop sure gives our exhibitors a lot of great reasons to be here.”
According to Raymond Bianchi, senior director, expositions and events for IDEAg Group, there is going to be a lot of grain moving during harvest this fall, which means equipment will be accumulating greater-than-normal service hours and new storage will likely be going up.
“That means the need for more and upgraded equipment. Exhibitors are looking forward to an outstanding show and farmers are looking for good deals,” Bianchi said. “Dakotafest is carving out a distinction as the do-not-miss farm show in the plains region.
“We expect even bigger things in the future as we continue to grow Dakotafest, which is already known for its great venders, quality programming, exceptional speakers and, of course, farmers and ranchers looking for the best and most innovative equipment at their disposal.”
This year’s show includes political candidates’ forums for the offices of South Dakota governor, U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate, as well as conferences on agricultural technology, farm program decisions, the latest in agricultural technology and farming and ranching as family businesses.
