AFBF Young Farmers & Ranchers Committee
The Young Farmers & Ranchers committee is appointed by the American Farm Bureau Federation president. There are 16 positions on the committee representing all four regions of the United States. An individual or a couple can hold each committee position.
The committee is made up of YF&R committee members from state Farm Bureaus. The committee is instrumental in operation of the YF&R contests during the AFBF Annual Meeting held in January of each year, as well as assisting in the planning and operation of the YF&R Leadership Conference held in February of each year. The committee also has two business meetings throughout the year. During one of the meetings, the committee partakes in a “Day on the Hill” event in Washington, D.C. This event provides a great opportunity to meet their elected officials and share with them what is happening in agriculture.
During the time on the committee, members are given vast amounts of training on leadership qualities, issues, briefing, as well as honing other professional skills.
The committee members are a very dedicated group of individuals who work very hard to ensure the ideals of Farm Bureau are upheld and continue to represent farmers and ranchers throughout the United States.
