AFBF Discussion Meet
The American Farm Bureau Federation Discussion Meet competitive event is designed to simulate a committee meeting where discussion and active participation are expected from each participant. This competition is evaluated on an exchange of ideas and information on a pre-determined topic. Participants build basic discussion skills, develop a keen understanding of important agricultural issues and explore how groups can pool knowledge to reach consensus and solve problems. Successful participants are productive thinkers rather than emotional persuaders and assist the group in creating ways to implement the solutions discussed and highlight Farm Bureau’s involvement in those actions/steps. More information about the Discussion Meet and the event application are below.
The 2015 AFBF YF&R Discussion Meet will have four award winners. The winner will receive their choice of either a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado or a 2015 GMC Sierra. Three finalists will each receive $2,500 cashand $500 in STIHL merchandise and a Case IH Farmall 55A tractor. Special thanks to our sponsors, General Motors, Case IH, and STIHL, for their continued support of the American Farm Bureau Young Farmers & Ranchers Discussion Meet.
