Welcome to the American Farm Bureau’s 101st Annual Convention and Trade Show. We are providing this guide as a resource to help you plan your coverage.
Because schedules and events are subject to change, registered media will receive emails on Friday, Saturday and Sunday previewing the next day’s events, including media availability and news conferences with AFBF leadership, special guests and conference attendees. For up-to-date information on the convention schedule, download our conference app – instructions are listed below. Please note, events for media only will not be listed in the app.
The AFBF Newsroom
The American Farm Bureau Federation’s Communications team will provide a full range of media services during the convention, from news releases to interview assistance. Our annual convention features a number of concurrent events and our comprehensive news operation is designed to help you cover everything. Bring your cameras, laptops and audio recorders, plug in and we will help with the rest.
The AFBF annual convention newsroom, media workroom and broadcast facilities will be located in the Austin Convention Center from Friday, Jan. 17 through Tuesday, Jan. 21. Most of the newsworthy action will take place beginning on Saturday and will conclude after Tuesday’s delegate business session.

General Session Photos
So that attendees will have unobstructed views of the stage during the opening and closing general sessions, there will be two officially designated photography areas for state Farm Bureau staff and photographers with media credentials. Those photo areas will be on the left and right side of the stage. Official AFBF photographers for the event will have limited access to the center stage area, and AFBF will provide “pool” photographs for state Farm Bureau and news media use shortly after the close of each general session at http://photos.fb.org.
Pick up a hard copy of the program onsite or download it here (includes maps of the Austin Convention Center and hotels used for events): https://annualconvention.fb.org/files/2020-Conference-Program-Final-Low-Res.pdf.
Photos for all events will be posted at http://photos.fb.org. They will be organized by event in collections.
Audio Download/RSS: Selected workshop audio will be available here: http://audio.fb.org.
Video coverage of key events will be made available for download during the convention. High-quality downloadable video and audio will be available at http://bit.ly/2020afbfmedia. We will provide video files suitable for editing from key events of the convention, both B-roll/cutaways and source footage.
Streaming Video Schedule
We will be live streaming all general session events at https://fb.org/livestream, with sharing links such as Facebook available from this site. Additionally, our Facebook page will have select speeches live streamed. We will also provide shareable recorded video streams of selected content from the convention at this livestream page.
