Senate Approves Resolution Recognizing AFBF’s 100th Anniversary

The Senate recently approved a resolution recognizing and celebrating the 100th anniversary of the American Farm Bureau Federation.  The resolution, S. Res. 39, recognizes AFBF for “100 years of promoting farm and ranch interests for the benefit of the people of the United States” and “applauds the American Farm Bureau Federation for its past, present and future efforts to advocate for farm interests that are critical to the United States.” Sens. Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) and Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) introduced the resolution.

John Thune (R-S.D.) and Reps. Jason Smith (R-Mo.) and Sanford Bishop (D-Ga.), who introduced the Death Tax Repeal Act (S. 215, H.R. 218) in their respective chambers.

The American Farm Bureau Federation, along with the Utah Farm Bureau Federation, the state of Utah and San Juan County (Utah), last week filed a brief in support of President Donald Trump’s December 2017 proclamations decreasing the size of the Grand-Staircase Escalante National Monument and the Bears Ears National Monument.
