The American Farm Bureau Federation announces the promotion of Tommy Beyea to the position of director, member benefits. In this role, Beyea is responsible for managing the business operations of American Farm Bureau Inc., which includes national member benefit programs with critical industry partners. Additionally, Beyea will oversee strategies for expanding supporting technology infrastructure and other important support operations for AFBI member benefit programs.
Beyea’s promotion builds on eight and a half years of service at AFBF. Hired in 2010 initially as a member of the Public Affairs Department, he transitioned to member benefits support in 2014. He has played an integral role in maintaining relationships with state Farm Bureaus and launching national member benefit programs with companies including Caterpillar, Grainger and John Deere. He also has impacted AFBI’s technology by working with state and industry partners to rebuild the member verification database. This new position will expand AFBI’s ability to work with current and future partners to serve Farm Bureau members by adding value to their membership experience, allowing the organization to continue to sustain its efforts as the Voice of Agriculture across the United States.
“Over the last year, Tommy has taken on a larger leadership role for our national Member Benefits programs,” said Melissa Sanders Carroll, executive director, business operations and revenue development. “This includes managing a significant technology upgrade for our database, onboarding and rolling out new partner programs and evaluating new strategic partnerships. His growth in these areas has positioned him well to lead this business entity and bring relevant and exciting benefits to our Farm Bureau members.”
