Rural Entrepreneurship Initiative Webinar: ‘Telling Your Business Story’ Slated for Sept. 23

WASHINGTON, D.C., September 19, 2014 – The American Farm Bureau Federation, together with the Georgetown University McDonough School of Business Global Social Enterprise Initiative, announces the third in a series of free online business training webinars for rural entrepreneurs and Farm Bureau members.

“Telling Your Business Story” will be presented on Tuesday, Sept. 23, at 3:00 p.m. Eastern. Featured presenters include Ladan Manteghi, executive director, Georgetown University’s Global Social Enterprise Initiative; Lori Ioannou, senior editor, CNBC; and Joni Cobb, president and CEO of the Pipeline Entrepreneurial Fellowship. “Being able to tell your business story effectively paves the way for raising money and attracting customers,” said Dr. Lisa Benson, AFBF’s director of rural development. “This webinar will help rural entrepreneurs create a compelling story and speak with confidence about what makes their business unique.”

The educational series, with five webinars in 2014, is a key component of the Rural Entrepreneurship Initiative, a joint effort between AFBF and GSEI. The series was created to address the major challenges that rural entrepreneurs are likely to face. Workshops are scheduled throughout the year, with topics including:

  • Telling Your Business Story on Tuesday, Sept. 23, at 3:00 p.m. Eastern
  • Finding Money To Grow on Tuesday, Oct. 28, at 3:00 p.m. Eastern
  • Finding and Keeping Talent on Tuesday, Dec. 2, at 3:00 p.m. Eastern
