With a goal of bringing members together to learn about prominent agriculture issues, Vermont Farm Bureau in 2023 created virtual town halls. These online events take place on the second Wednesday of each month, allowing members from across the state to listen to guests talk about a variety of issues.

In addition to the virtual town halls, Vermont Farm Bureau hosted other events to better connect members from across the state together while continuing to raise awareness of pressing agricultural topics. Those events included agriculture field days, winter and spring workshops and a legislative bus tour around the state.

Strategic Action Fund

Vermont’s events were funded through a grant from the American Farm Bureau Federation’s Strategic Action Fund. Through the fund, state Farm Bureaus with fewer than 25,000 members were eligible to apply for funding of up to $5,000 for public policy-related projects.

Several state Farm Bureaus – Idaho, Iowa, North Carolina, Tennessee and Texas – each contributed at least $1,000 to the Strategic Action Fund for the 2023 round of projects.
