Farm Bill Listening Sessions

House Agriculture Committee Chairman G.T. Thompson (R-Pa.) hosted a bipartisan group of legislators at the Pennsylvania Farm Show on Jan. 7 to kick off the action on the 2023 farm bill. The committee has indicated they will have a “pretty intense schedule” to move a farm bill this year.

  • The current schedule: The agriculture panel plans to hold hearings in Washington, D.C., and listening sessions around the country during the weeks that Congress is not in session. The next scheduled listening session is February 14 at the World Ag Expo, Tulare, California.
  • Why it matters: The listening sessions will be a great opportunity for GO Team members to share first-hand what works and what does not in the current farm bill. We will keep the GO Team informed of listening session locations as they are scheduled.
