Bloomberg Businessweek quoted several Farm Bureau sources including Economist Veronica Nigh in an article about how many farmers continue to support President Donald Trump despite the trade difficulties they are experiencing. Nigh explained that China’s punitive tariffs on imports of U.S. soybeans have prompted mainland pig farmers to find alternate feed sources. Bloomberg Businessweek also shared insights from North Carolina Farm Bureau President Larry Wooten and Lorenda Overman, a North Carolina hog farmer and member of the AFB Women’s Leadership Committee. The publication also referenced Iowa Farm Bureau’s estimate of agricultural losses from recent flooding along the Missouri River, in addition to quoting Trump’s comments to Farm Bureau members at AFBF’s Annual Convention in January: “We’re doing trade deals that are going to get you so much business, you’re not even going to believe it.”
