The Washington Times quoted Farm Bureau sources almost exclusively in an article about how farmers are weathering trade concerns in the context of a predicted uptick in farm profits. “The higher net farm income projection comes despite continued retaliatory tariffs on U.S. agricultural products, but largely reflects expectations for trend yields and slightly higher prices for some commodities,” AFBF Chief Economist John Newton told the Times. The Times also quoted three farmers who are members of AFBF’s Grassroots Outreach (GO) Team – Brandon Whitt of Tennessee, Glenn Brunkow of Kansas and Kelly Whiteman Snipes of Indiana – in the article, along with Will Rodger, AFBF’s director of policy communications.
