Daniel Munch

Economist

Daniel Munch, a Connecticut native, joined the American Farm Bureau Federation in 2021 as an associate economist and was promoted to economist in 2022. His work focuses on dairy markets, natural disasters, specialty crops, and transportation and infrastructure, along with federal lands and grazing, wildlife management, aquaculture, organic standards and cooperatives.

Daniel earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut with dual majors in livestock management, and policy and resource economics. He holds a master’s in agricultural and food economics from Cornell University. Active in 4‑H as a youth, he developed an early interest in agriculture.

Before joining AFBF, he conducted agricultural policy research for Connecticut’s 2nd Congressional District and worked as a commodity analyst focused on protein markets.
